µ-Diphenylgermyl-µ-carbonyl-bis(tricarbonyl-cobalt) is formed in high yield from diphenylgermane and octacarbonyldicobalt; diphenylbis(tetracarbonylcobalt)-germanium(IV) is not an intermediate in the reaction.
