Lower valent dialkylamides of titanium and vanadium

Abstract

Novel dialkylamides of TiIII which have alkylamido-bridged structures and exhibit fluxional behaviour and strong metal–metal interactions, together with the TiII derivatives obtained by disproportionation 2TiX(NR2)2→ TiX2+ Ti(NR2)4, afford valuable starting materials for the synthesis of bivalent and tervalent titanium complexes.
