Reaction of copper(II) octaethylporphin with ethoxycarbonylcarbene

Abstract

Reaction of copper(II) octaethylporphin with ethyl diazoacetate in presence of copper(I) iodide give two isomeric chlorins (III) containg fused cyclopropane rings as well as meso-ethoxycarbonylmethyloctaethylporphin (I; R = CH2·CO2Et).
