Identification of the denaturants in surgical spirits B.P.C. by using thin-layer chromatography

Abstract

As surgical spirits are liable to misuse it is important to ensure that minimum standards of denaturing are maintained. A rapid thin-layer chromatographic technique has been devised as a supplement to the official ultraviolet method for determination of two of the three ingredients.
