A simple method for the purification of Brilliant green, reagent for antimony

Abstract

Some batches of Brilliant green give low and erratic results when used for the photometric determination of antimony. Precipitation and recrystallisation of Brilliant green perchlorate yields a product that gives superior results to those obtained with the commercial dye.
