Peptide kinetics. Part 7.—Acid-catalyzed hydrolysis of glycyl-L-leucyl-L-leucine, L-leucyl-L-leucine, glycyl-L-phenylalanyl-L-phenylalanine and L-phenylalanyl-L-phenylalanine

Abstract

Studies of the kinetics of hydrolysis of glycyl-L-leucyl-L-leucine, glycyl-L-phenylalanyl-L-phenylalanine, L-leucyl-L-leucine and L-phenylalanyl-L-phenylalanine in 2N HCl are reported. Values of kl-l, kp-p, kg-ll and kgl-l have been determined over the temperature range 55–94°C and values of ΔH and ΔS calculated. These values are discussed in relation to earlier predictions by the present authors.
