Organosilicon Compounds. Part V. Synthesis of N-(trimethylsilylalkyl) diamines and N-(trimethylsilylalkyl)-N′-(2-mercaptoethyl) diamines.

Abstract

The title compounds were prepared by direct synthesis, in good yields. Diamines used include ethylenediamine, trimethylenediamine, piperazine, and N-(2-aminoethyl)aziridine. Structures of the unsymmetrically substituted diamines were proved by i.r. spectral data and unambiguous synthesis. The dihydrochlorides of a number of these compounds were also prepared.
