Stereochemistry of the Leuckart reaction with 2-phenoxycyclohexanone

Abstract

The Leuckart reaction of 2-phenoxycyclohexanone with some secondary amines has been shown to give mixtures containing 71—77% of the cis-isomer. The stereochemistry and mechanisms involved are discussed.
