Tetranortriterpenoids. Part X. Grandifolione

Abstract

Grandifolione, isolated from the trunk wood of Khaya grandifoliola, is formulated as (I). It is the first natural representative of a stage regarded as intermediate in the in vivo transformation of apoeuphol (or apotirucallol)(XI) into the typical pentenolide system (XIV) found in limonin.
