Dimers, and benz[d,e]isoquinolines from 4-phenacylidenehomophthalimides

Abstract

4-Phenacylidenehomophthalimide and its N-methyl derivative dimerised on heating and, with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate, gave benz[d,e]isoquinolines in low yield.
