The mass spectra of some lignans of the 1-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene series

Abstract

A study has been made of the mass spectra of lignans belonging to the widely spread class of 1-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalenes. One novel and widely spread breakdown pattern has been discovered in all the compounds studied, whilst the actual substitution pattern and degree of oxygenation are also of great importance.
