The structure of the 1 : 2 adduct of indene and dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate: X-ray analysis of a dibromo-derivative

Abstract

The structure of the 1 : 2 adduct of indene and dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate has been established by X-ray analysis of a dibromo-derivative, crystals of which are monoclinic with four molecules of C21H20Br2O8 in a cell of dimensions a= 8·48, b= 7·48, c= 34·63 Å, β= 98·0°. The space-group is P21/c. The final value of R is 0·087 for 1982 independent reflections.
