Combination spectra: structure and bonding in tetrakis(tricarbonyl-organothiomanganese and -rhenium) compounds

Abstract

Species of the type [M(CO)3SR]x(M = Mn, Re) are shown from fundamental and combination infrared spectra to be tetrameric in solution, and to have a regular tetrahedral structure with no metal–metal bonding.
