Nuclear magnetic resonance studies on metal complexes. Part VI. Complexes of the type [IrX3(CO)L2](L = Cl, Br, or l; L = PMe2Ph or AsMe2Ph), including a study of iridium–chlorine stretching frequencies

Abstract

Proton (methyl) magnetic resonance spectral data are given for a series of iridium(III) complexes of type [IrX3(CO)L2], (X = Cl, Br, or I; L = PMe2Ph or AsMe2Ph. The preparation of the complexes and the interconversion of the different configurations are described. Values of ν(Ir–Cl) depend mainly on the trans-ligand and decrease in the order Cl > CO > PMe2Ph ∼ AsMe2Ph.
