Vibrational spectra of Cs3Tl2Cl9, Au2Cl6, Nb2Cl10, Nb2Br10, Ta2Cl10, Ta2Br10

Abstract

Raman and i.r. spectral data for the compounds Cs3Tl2Cl9, Au2Cl6, Nb2Cl10, Nb2Br10, Ta2Cl10, and Ta2Br10, together with appropriate normal-co-ordinate calculations, are reported. In the case of Cs3Tl2Cl9 the assignments of Raman-active bands are supported by oriented single-crystal measurements. Vibrational data are also given for the MX6 species (where M = Nb or Ta; X = Cl or Br).
