Pyridinetrihalogenometallate anions, pyMX3–, of cobalt(II), nickel(II), and zinc(II)

Abstract

Salts containing pyMX3– and picMX2–(py = pyridine, pic =α-picoline) anions have been prepared for cobalt, nickel, and zinc (X = Cl, Br, or I). The spectra, conductivities, and magnetic susceptibilities of the salts have been studied and are in accord with the anions having a pseudo-tetrahedral structure about the metal atoms.
