Conductimetric studies in ketonic solvents. Part VII. The temperature dependence of conductance parameters

Abstract

Conductances of some quaternary ammonium bromides and iodides in ethyl methyl ketone at 15 and 35° have been determined to supplement work at 25° reported previously, and the parameters obtained from current conductance equations are compared. Hydrodynamic radii decrease slightly with increasing temperature, while association parameters increase. Entropies and heats of association increase with cation size, indicating a greater power of anion desolvation. The association parameters of tetraethylammonium iodide are confirmed as anomalous.
