Studies in germyl chemistry. Part VII. Vibrational spectra of digermyl ether, methoxygermane, and methylthiogermane

Abstract

The vibrational spectra of (GeH3)2O, GeH3OCH3, GeH3OCD3, and GeH3SCH3 have been measured, and assignments consistent with non-linear molecular skeletons made in each case. The Ge–O–Ge bond angle in (GeH3)2O has been calculated as 139°± 6°, using the valence force-field approach.
