The crystal structure of cyclic acetylene complex of hexacarbonyldicobalt Co2(CO)6·C6F6

Abstract

Hexacarbonyl-3,4,5,5,6,6-hexafluorocyclohexa-1-yne-3-enedicobalt crystallises in space group P21/c with unit cell a= 9·04, b= 12·62, c= 14·44 Å, β= 103·1°, Z= 4. A least-squares analysis of 936 independent reflexions shows the structure to consist of two Co(CO)3 fragments, conformationally eclipsed, bridged by the cyclic acetylene ligand. The metal–metal bond length is 2·488(4)Å and a comparison is made with related structures.
