Interaction of silanes with tris(triphenylphosphine)chlororhodium(I) and other rhodium complexes; hydrosilation of hex-1-ene by use of trichlorosilane

Abstract

The oxidative addition reactions of trichloro- and other silanes with tris(triphenylphosphine) chlororhodium and other rhodium(I) complexes are described. The adducts were characterised inter alia by high-resolution nuclear magnetic resonance (n.m.r.) and infrared (i.r.) studies. The complexes were studied as catalysts for the addition of trichlorosilane to hex-1-ene.
