A spectrophotometric study of nickel(II) and cobalt(II) in sulphate-containing media

Abstract

The visible spectra of nickel(II) and cobalt(II) in sulphate glasses are reported and compared with those in concentrated sulphuric acid. For nickel(II) the crystal field in sulphuric acid is similar to that in the sulphate glass but for cobalt(II) the two environments differ significantly.
