A revised theory for calculating distributions of products from the catalytic reaction of ethylene with deuterium
Abstract
A general theory, which enables product distributions to be calculated for catalysed reactions of ethylene with deuterium, has been modified to make allowance for an isotope effect in the ethyl decomposition step. Values for the magnitude of the isotope effect have been taken from the literature. Product distributions calculated using the revised theory are in better agreement with experiment than those obtained from the original theory.
