Chemical valence studies in nuclear decay. The [graphic omitted] reaction in 127mTe(OH)6 crystals

Abstract

The chemical effects following isomeric transition of 127mTe in 127mTe(OH)6 crystals have been investigated. The influence of added crystal defects on the initial chemical distribution and on the thermal annealing reactions is negligible. A model based upon the hypothesis that the supply of charge carriers from the IT-formed fragments to the radio-active recoil atoms has been shown to account quantitatively for the data obtained for thermal annealing of the 127Te(IV) forming fragments.
