Dielectric absorption and imperfections in symmetrical secondary alcohols

Abstract

The changes of dielectric absorption in the symmetrical secondary alcohols 8-pentadecanol, 9-heptadecanol and 10-nonadecanol which result from annealing deformed polycrystalline samples have been examined. The absorption contour and temperature dependence after annealing for periods of several months approach that observed previously in undeformed samples. It is suggested that the changes are due to removal of lattice imperfections.
