Radical and molecular product yields in X-irradiated alkaline aqueous solutions

Abstract

Solutions containing K3Fe(CN)6+K4Fe(CN)6+HCOONa have been X-irradiated to measure radical and molecular product yields over the pH range 10–13.5. GH2 and Geq+GH are constant over this range of pH. There are indications that the precisely known decrease in GH2O2 which occurs when the pH is increased is matched by an appropriate (= 2ΔGH2O2) increase in GOH.
