Reactions of phosphorus ylids. Part III. Reactions with acetylenes

Abstract

The general applicability of the reactions of imino- and methylene-phosphoranes with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate has been studied, and the properties of the adducts have been investigated. Methylenehydrazono-phosphoranes react with the acetylene as substituted iminophosphoranes, and not as 1,4-dipolar species.
