Benzo[b]thiophen derivatives. Part V. The syntheses of 3-(2-amino-ethyl)-6-hydroxybenzo[b]thiophen and related compounds

Abstract

A synthesis of 3-(2-aminoethyl)-6-hydroxybenzo[b]thiophen (III) from 6-ethoxythioindoxyl (I) is described together with a route to benzo[b]thiophen analogues of the harmine–harmaline series.
