Chemistry of lichen constituents. Part III. Haemathamnolic acid: a new β-orcinol depside from Pertusaria rhodesiaca vainio

Abstract

The isolation and elucidation of the structure of a new lichen depside of the thamnolic acid type is described. The substance, haemathamnolic acid, is shown to have a structure derived from haematommic acid and thamnolcarboxylic acid.
