Studies related to the chemistry of melanins. Part V. Investigations on the specific deuteriation of 5,6-dihydroxyindoline and 5,6-dihydroxyindole

Abstract

5,6-Dihydroxyindoline hydrochloride and 5,6-dihydroxyindole, specifically deuteriated at the 2-position have been prepared. 5,6-Diacetoxyindole, specifically deuteriated at the 3-position has also been prepared, but deacetylation of this resulted in extensive loss of deuterium.
