Carbohydrate derivatives of 1-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles

Abstract

Hexosulose bis(benzoylhydrazones) were prepared from the corresponding osulose (osone) and benzoyl- or substituted benzoyl-hydrazines. Their tetra-O-acetyl derivatives were oxidised with iodine and mercuric oxide to 1-α-benzoyloxybenzylideneamino-1,2,3-triazoles. Deacetylation of the D-arabino-derivatives of the 1,2,3-triazoles afforded the 1,2,3-triazoles which on reacetylation gave 1-acetamido-4-(D-arabino-tetra-acetoxybutyl)-1,2,3-triazole.
