Use of ethoxyacetylene for the synthesis of N-protected amino-acids

Abstract

Ethoxyacetylene has been used to form phthalimido- and substituted phthalimido-derivatives of amino-acids and their esters both in anhydrous and in aqueous solution. It was not found possible to make analogous maleimidoderivatives in this manner.
