Electronic absorption spectrum of the α-1-adamantyl derivative of Michler's hydrol blue

Abstract

The close similarity between the absorption spectrum of the α-1-adamantyl derivative of Michler's Hydrol Blue and that of the α-t-butyl derivative strikingly confirms the view that molecular crowding in the latter causes partial deconjugation of one of the dimethylaminophenyl groups.
