Complexes of the cis and trans forms of dithian disulphoxide and dithian monosulphoxide with phenyltin chlorides and with stannic iodide

Abstract

Dithian monosulphoxide gives a 1:1 adduct with triphenyltin chloride and 2:1 adducts with diphenyltin dichloride and stannic iodide; the cis and trans forms of dithian disulphoxide give 1:1 complexes with diphenyltin dichloride phenyltin trichloride, and stannic iodide. Infrared evidence indicates that, whereas the trans-disulphoxide is bidentate, the cis compound acts as a unidentate ligand.
