The skeletal stretching frequencies of some bridged platinum and palladium chloro-complexes
Abstract
The skeletal stretching frequencies of complexes [Pt2Cl4L2](L = PMe3, PEt3, PPrn3, PPh3, AsMe3, AsEt3, CO, and C2H4) and [Pd2Cl4L2](L = PMe3, PEt3, PPrn3, PPh3, AsMe3, AsEt3, SMe2, and C2H4) are reported for the range 500–200 cm.–1 and assigned on the basis of a trans-symmetrical chloride-bridged arrangement. The effect of the nature of L on the frequencies is discussed.
