Effect of substituents on methane 13C–H and silane 29Si–H coupling constants
Abstract
A theoretical interpretation is given of substituent effects on J(13C–H) in methane and J(29Si–H) in silane. The extended Hückel theory of Pople and Santry is used. The important parameter is the electronegativity of the substituent, introduced via the Coulomb integral.
