Double alkoxides of some quadrivalent metals
Abstract
The reactions of Li, Na, and K alkoxides with tetra-alkoxides of Zr, Ti, and Sn have been carried out in different molar ratios. A number of new double alkoxides have been isolated and these have been purified either by recrystallisation or by volatilisation. Their molecular weights have been determined ebullioscopically and reactions with alcohols and acetyl chloride have been investigated. The systems have also been studied by conductimetric titrations in the corresponding alcohol.
