Addition of amine–boranes to isocyanates to form urea–borane complexes
Abstract
The reactions of primary and secondary alkylamine–boranes with phenyl (and ethyl) isocyanate have been studied and the products are considered to be urea–borane complexes on the basis of chemical analysis and infrared and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectra. Aniline–borane and phenyl isocyanate yielded uncomplexed sym-diphenylurea.
