Studies of the polyanions and polycations by Glauber's-salt cryoscopy. Part II. Polycations of uranium

Abstract

Depression in the transition temperature of Glauber's salt owing to the presence of UO22+ and other polycations of uranium formed by the hydrolysis of UO22+ have been measured at different pH. The average degree of condensation calculated from these measurements appear to confirm the existence of the polycations with the general formula UO2[(OH)2UO2]n2+ with [n with combining macron] increasing rapidly above pH 5.
