Halogenocarbonyl complexes of iridium(I) containing tertiary phosphines and tertiary arsines

Abstract

A new and convenient route to complexes of the type trans-[lrX(CO)L2](X = halogen; L = tertiary phosphine or tertiary arsine) is described. Some reactions of trans-[lrX(CO)(PEt2Ph)2](X = Cl, Br) are also described including metathesis, and addition of hydrogen halides, methyl bromide, acyl chlorides, and allyl chloride. Dipole moments and infrared results are given.
