The chemistry of organothallium compounds. Part III. Far-infrared spectra of halogenobis(pentafluorophenyl)thallium(III) compounds

Abstract

The far-infrared spectra (400–50 cm.–1) of halogenobis(pentafluorophenyl)thallium(III) compounds, (RF)2TIX (RF= C6F5; X = F, Cl, or Br), of the complexes (RF)2Ph3POTIX (X = Cl or Br), and of bispentafluorophenyl-mercury have been recorded. Assignments are suggested for the thallium–halogen frequencies, and the structures of the (RF)2TIX compounds are discussed.
