Mixed halogeno- and nitrato-chloro-complexes of trinuclear rhenium(III)

Abstract

The rhenium(III) complexes Cs3Re3Cl9(NO3)3, Cs5Re4Br12Cl6(Cs2ReBr6+ Cs3Re3Cl6Br6), and Cs2Re3Br7Cl4 have been obtained from rhenium(III) chloride. The first compound is isolated from a solution of the chloride in nitric acid, and the other two are obtained from hydrobromic acid solution.
