Thermal desorption of mercury from platinum surfaces

Abstract

The thermal desorption of Hg from Pt metal supported on asbestos fibre has shown the existence of two groups of sites. Both groups appear to be heterogeneous. There is some indication that one type is due to Hg at the surface and the other due to Hg in the bulk. The effect of catalyst treatment on the subsequent adsorption of Hg is shown.
