Derivation of p-C-T relationships for the Pd+Ni+H and Pd+Rh+H systems at pressures exceeding atmospheric from measurements of electrode potential

Abstract

Pressure-composition (p-C) relationships for pressures of hydrogen up to 15 atm have been derived for the hydrides of some Pd+Ni and Pd+Rh alloys from measurements of electrode potential subsequent to electrolysis. Relationships between H/Me and R/R0 also have been derived. Heats and entropies of absorption and desortion of hydrogen have been calculated over regions of hydrogen content where there is evidence that α- and β-phase hydrides co-exist.
