Preparation of indolizines from ethyl bromopyruvate and ethyl 2-pyridylacetate

Abstract

Additional information, in particular n.m.r. spectra, has confirmed that the products of the reaction between ethyl bromopyruvate and ethyl 2-pyridylacetate are indolizines and not quinolizines as proposed by other authors.
