Phosphoro- and phosphono-thiolates are converted into the corresponding fluoridates by reaction with 1-fluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene in the presence of a tertiary base. A mechanism is suggested. In certain cases this reaction provides a convenient synthetic route to fluoridates.
