Fungal detoxication. Part VIII. Metabolism of substituted 4-phenoxybutyric acids by Aspergillus niger

Abstract

In the metabolism of six substituted 4-phenoxybutyric acids by Aspergillus niger using a replacement culture technique, the number and position of nuclear substituents has been shown to influence the extent of β-oxidation. The corresponding β-hydroxyl acids have been prepared and their metabolism by A. niger examined.
