Pyrolysis of 2-substituted oxetans

Abstract

The relative amounts of substituted benzaldehyde and substituted styrene resulting from the pyrolysis of 2-aryloxetans depend on the temperature and on the amount of packing in the column, but are independent of the nature of the aryl group.
