1,19-Disubstituted tetradehydrocorrins
Abstract
Treatment of 1,19-disubstituted 1,19-dideoxybiladiene-ac dihydrobromides with nickel or cobalt salts in presence of a base and oxygen leads to the formation, in good yield, of 1,19-disubstituted tetradehydrocorrin metal salts (e.g., V). A variety of these compounds has been prepared. Spectral evidence for the structure of the products is presented, and the metal salts of the 1,19-diethoxycarbonyl-tetradehydrocorrins have been converted to the corresponding corrole metal complexes by removal of the ester groups. Hydrogenation of a nickel tetradehydrocorrin chloride gives a monodehydrocorrin nickel complex, and a similar hydrogenation of the corresponding cobalt derivative gives a product which may be a didehydrocorrin cobalt complex.
