Physical properties and chemical constitution. Part LI. The proton magnetic resonance spectra of some methoxy- and methylthio-derivatives of carbon, silicon, and germanium

Abstract

The proton chemical shifts and 13C—1H-coupling constants of compounds belonging to the series Me4–nX(OMe)n, where n= 1–4 and X = C, Si, or Ge, and also of Me4–nX(SMe)n, where X = C or Si, have been measured. The results indicate the presence of pπdπ bonding between silicon and oxygen atoms.
