The reactions of radical anions. Part I. The cleavage of the radical anion of dibenzofuran

Abstract

The reactions of the radical anion of dibenzofuran have been studied both by optical methods and by electron spin resonance. Values of ΔG, ΔH, and ΔS have been obtained for the cleavage of the radical anion when the gegenion is Li+, Na+, K+ and Cs+; the rate of cleavage increases 25-fold from Cs+ to Li+.
